Travel alert to Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan


Given the recent safety situation in Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan Province, the China National Tourism Administration has issued a travel alert. Following is the translated version of the full text:

"As a result of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the Jiuzhaigou county in Sichuan at 21:19 on the 8th of August 2017, the China National Tourism Administration has issued a Level 1 travel alert for tourists not to travel during this period to the areas affected by the earthquake in Jiuzhaigou. Travel agencies are urged to cease organizing tours to the affected area, as well as to organize the evacuation of tourists as soon as possible."

The Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) alerts Macao residents not to travel to Jiuzhaigou during this period.

Until the present moment GGCT has received 2 requests for information and no requests for assistance.

If necessary, Macao residents can call the 24-hour Tourism Hotline (853) 2833 3000 for assistance.
