To promote the development of Macao fashion industry, Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM) leads the students of “Fashion Incubator Program” to participate in the “Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer” this week. Students will be showcasing their latest created-in-Macao collections in fashion show on 12 July as well as exhibiting in their stands.
The CPTTM “Fashion Incubator Program” was set up in 2009. Outstanding graduates’ winners at the annual “Diploma Programme in Fashion Design and Manufacture” graduation show will be invited to participate in the incubator programme. Each year, CPTTM initiates the creation theme and design concept, leading students to design collections for the MaConsef fashion label, which is registered and owned by CPTTM. Students participate in the design, manufacturing, and production management cycle, working on each step of the fashion design process, from concept creation to production, marketing and promotion. Their active involvement helps them to gain complete understanding on the fashion industry operation. The MaConsef fashion label has traveled to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mainland China for major fashion shows. The great potential of Macao fashion design capabilities is being well demonstrated at these events. Besides attracting the attention of fashion industry practitioners and the public, the MaConsef collections also received raving reviews and recognition from fellow fashion designers and media. Five students were appointed to participate in this year’s program, namely Celestino Maria Cordova, Yuna Leong, Mickey Che, Karena Lao, and Eunice Cheong. The design team will create 20 pieces original design collection under the guidance and support of CPTTM advisors.
Hong Kong Fashion Week is organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
