The selection of Macao film projects for the 2017 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Film Production Investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter “Fair”) was completed on 27 June (Tuesday). Nine projects were selected. The applicants of the selected film projects will be invited to attend the Fair on 25and 26July, where they will be able to meet film investors and producers from the three regions, promote the selected film projects and seek opportunities for collaboration.
Committed to explore potential Macao film projects and broaden the communication channels of local film creators and filmmakers, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) called for submissions of Macao film projects for the Fair. The adjudication panel selected eligible film projects based on the creativity of the story, experience and execution ability of the applicant, the executive producer and production team as well as the budgeting rationale. After assessment, nine applications were selected and the selected applicants are: Vong Tin Leong, Long Wai I, Wong Kong Po, Tong Ka Chun, Ieong Lek On, Lou Ka Hou, Fernando Manuel Nunes dos Santos Eloy, Vincent Hoi, Wong Teng Teng.
The members of the adjudicating panel included Secretary-general of the Guangdong Motion Picture Industry Association, Zheng Dawei; film programmer, Rita Wong and Vice President of IC, Chan Peng Fai.
The Fair is co-organised by theCultural Affairs Bureau, the Create Hong Kong, and the Guangdong Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television since 2014. It aims to provide a high-level and convenient communication platform for film investors and producers from the three regions. It not only helps to build a channel for film investment and co-operation, but also cultivates filmmaking talents and promotes the film industry in the three regions.
