AACM approves 142 extra and charter flights to meet the demand for travel in summer vacation

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR has so far approved 142 extra and charter flights for this summer vacation which are destined to mainland China, Taiwan China, Thailand, Republic of Korea and Japan to cater for the demand for travel of both Macao residents and tourists who take Macao as a transit point to travel to other places.

In July and August every year, the number of passengers travelling via Macau international Airport is expected to rise. To cater for the demand for travel of both Macao residents and tourists who take Macao as a transit point to travel to other places, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has so far approved 142 extra and charter flights for this summer vacation which are destined to mainland China, Taiwan China, Thailand, Republic of Korea and Japan.

In accordance with the application submitted by Air Macau this year, AACM has approved them to operate a total of 142 extra and charter flights which will start from 4 July to 31 August 2017, including 57 flights to Taipei, 26 to Kaohsiung, 30 to Bangkok, 17 to Jeju, 8 to Ningbo and 4 to Okinawa.

Air Transport has become one of the vital channels for passengers who make outbound travels. Whenever the peak travelling season comes, especially July and August, airlines usually provide extra capacity to satisfy the travelling need of the passengers. AACM will approve the flights in a timely manner to cope with the market demand.

In addition to the above extra and charter flights, AACM has also approved the applications for the capacity increase submitted by Air Macau and Tiger Taiwan respectively for their Taiyuan flights and Taiwan flights.
