Exhibition of Members Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao was inaugurated

Co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao, the “Exhibition of Members’ Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao” was inaugurated on 19 May at the Chun Chou Tong Pavilion of Lou Lim Ioc Garden. The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of the Department of Education and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R, Xu Ting; the Acting President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Kent Ieong Chi Kin; the President of the Macau Artist Society, Lai Ieng; the General Manager of the Macao Daily News, Wan Nang Hon and the President of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao, Chui Sai Cheong.

This exhibition features 152 pieces (sets) of Chinese traditional paintings, calligraphies and seal carvings in different genres. The artworks are dedicated and vivid, presenting the strong and stereoscopic effect of paintings in traditional Chinese ink.

Founded in 1953, the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao has always organized assemblies and exhibitions over the years, promoting exchange between artists, as well as learning and development opportunities in the field of painting and the art of calligraphy. Members of the Association include pioneering artists with a solid technique and outstanding achievements, namely Chui Tak Kei, Luo Shuzhong, Deng Fen, Situ Qi, Huang Yunyu, Gan Heng, Guang Wanli and Lin Jin. The Association has spared no efforts in nurturing new talents, and emerging artists of the new generations , who developed their own style in artistic creation.

The “Exhibition of Members’ Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao” is held from 20 May to 25 June, at the Chun Chou Tong Pavilion of Lou Lim Ioc Garden, located at No. 10, Estrada de Adolfo Loureiro. Admission is free. The exhibition is open daily from 9am to 7pm, including public holidays. In addition, the organizer offers guided tours for schools and institutions every Saturday and Sunday, from 3pm to 4pm. Advance booking is required.
