Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 28thMacao Arts Festival (MAF) presents a variety of extraordinary outreach activities. Japanese choreographer Hiroaki Umeda will share his unique insights on performance, creation and body aesthetics. Most of the MAF outreach activities have free admission and all are welcome to register.
“Meet-the-Artist: Hiroaki Umeda on Creation and Body Aesthetics”, to be held on 21 May, invites famous Japanese choreographer Hiroaki Umeda to share his unique insights on the human body, technology, performing arts and the aesthetics of multimedia. The activity is conducted in English, with translation to Cantonese in some sessions. Renowned choreographer and multidisciplinary artist Hiroaki Umeda is recognized as one of the leading figures of the Japanese avant-garde art scene. His works is acknowledged for the highly holistic artistic methodology with strong digital background, which considers not only physical elements as dance, but also optical, sensorial and spatiotemporal components as part of the choreography.
