The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, today said he expected the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Mr Zhang Dejiang, would hear opinions from different groups on a wide range of topics during his Macao visit.
Mr Chui said he was pleased that Mr Zhang had accepted the invitation to visit Macao from 8 to 10 May. During the three-day visit, Mr Chui will brief Mr Zhang on the Government’s work and the latest developments in the city’s progress.
Mr Chui expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for its long-term support for Macao and the launch of favourable measures and policies to support the city’s development.
In other comments, the Chief Executive said the Government would launch fresh policy initiatives to help the further development of local young people. He said the Government attached great importance to its communication with young people and to their opinions, and had been striving to create fresh opportunities to help them further their achievements.
The Government’s policy in this regard is in line with the aspirations outlined by President Xi Jinping when he was in Macao in 2014.
