Consumer Council and The Industry and Commerce Federation of Islands of Macao co-operate to promote ‘Certified Shops’

The ‘Certified Shop’ mechanism of the Council aims to attract more local businesses that are willing to be monitored and assessed in order to help enlarge its consumer protection work and to strengthen the successful outcome of the mechanism of enhancing overall quality of local retail industries.

In order to organize better promotion of its ‘Certified Shop’ mechanism in local communities, Consumer Council met with The Industry and Commerce Federation of Islands of Macao earlier to discuss about the acceptance of the Federation members as ‘Adherents’, and members that pass the Council’s assessment will also be awarded the ‘Certified Shop’ emblem of the current year.

President of the Federation, Ieong Keng Hui, and other representatives of the Federation agree with the aims and measures of the mechanism, the Federation will be promoting among its member and encourage them to join the mechanism. There are currently about 700 members under the Federation.

The Council is now working with Macao Ideas and other chambers to shorten the procedures of the application of becoming ‘Certified Shop’, co-operating parties recommend their members to the Council to join as ‘Adherents’ and ‘Certified Shops’.

Businesses from all industries are welcome to join as ‘Adherents’ of the Council’s ‘Certified Shop’ mechanism. For details, please visit online service platform of ‘Certified Shops’ on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo).
