April is a Contribution Month and FSS Reminds the Public to Pay Contributions on Time

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) reminds members of the public that April is a contribution month and employers are required to pay contributions of the Obligatory System in this month for their local long-term employees for the first quarter of this year. If they have a non-resident worker, they must also pay the employment fee. Besides, beneficiaries of the Arbitrary System must also pay their contributions to the FSS in April. Starting this year, the contribution amount is 90 patacas per month, of which the contribution amount of the Obligatory System is 30 patacas for the employee and 60 patacas for the employer and the contribution amount of the Arbitrary System is 90 patacas.

For the Social Security System, April is the month of payment of contributions for the first quarter. All employers are required to pay contributions of the Obligatory System for their local long-term employees in April. If they have hired a non-resident worker, they must pay the employment fee at the same time. Employers only need to apply for the Electronic Filing Service from the FSS and then log in to the “Electronic Filing System” with their “ePass” accounts to report the employment information of their employees who belong to the Obligatory System, enroll their employees as beneficiaries of the FSS, download the Payment Advice, view the staff’s employment information and the Record of Payment and send the relevant information and documents to the FSS via electronic transmission. Moreover, employers with non-resident workers can also view and download the List of Non-Resident Workers Required to Pay Employment Fee from the same online system. For employers who use the Electronic Filing Service, in addition to all service points of the FSS, the Islands District and the Central District Public Services Centres under the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (abbreviated to IACM in Macao) and payment counters of the nine designated banks in Macao, they can also make their payments through various e-payment channels. For details, please visit the thematic web page at www.fss.gov.mo/zh-hant/sites/edeclare.

For employers who have not applied for the Electronic Filing Service, the payment methods remain unchanged. Payment can be made in cash or by cheque/cashier’s order (payable to “Fundo de Segurança Social”) at FSS’ St. Lazarus Parish Field Office and the FSS’ Field Office on the 13thFloor of China Civil Plaza in NAPE and Areia Preta Service Centre of the Macao SAR (Area of Social Security and Employment). Moreover, for the employment fee for non-resident workers and the contributions of the Obligatory System when there is no change in employment situation of local long-term employees within the quarter, payment can also be made in cash or by cheque/cashier’s order (payable to “Instituto para os Assuntos Cívicos e Municipais”) at the Islands District and the Central District Public Services Centres under the IACM, or pay in cash or by cheque/cashier order (payable to “Fundo de Segurança Social”) (the related banks only accept cheques and cashier orders of their own banks) or through the same bank’s account transfer, at the nine designated banks (including Bank of China Macau Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Ltd., Banco Comercial de Macau, Tai Fung Bank, Banco Nacional Ultramarino, OCBC Wing Hang Bank, Macau Chinese Bank, Luso International Banking Limited and Delta Asia Bank).

For beneficiaries of the Arbitrary System, in addition to all service points of the FSS, the Islands District and the Central District Public Services Centres or the nine designated banks, they can also make their payments using the autopay of nine designated banks, or via the Jetco Network ATMs with “Jetco” logo or online banking of Bank of China Macau Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Ltd., Banco Comercial de Macau, Tai Fung Bank, Banco Nacional Ultramarino and OCBC Wing Hang Bank, or via self-service machines of BOC EXPRESS.
