Consumer Council and China Consumers’ Association collaborate to send “Consumer Tips” in Mainland

The Consumer Council continues to introduce local retail business culture to tourists through different channels to encourage their confidence in shopping in Macao, to avoid consumer disputes, and let them receive enjoyable services offered here.

Macao is expecting a large number of tourists due to the coming public holidays in mainland China, the Council and China Consumers’ Association, together with provinces and cities in the Mainland, send out “Consumer Tips” to Chinese consumers. The tips include four series: shopping notes on buying gold and jewelries, watches, and mobile phones, etc., as well as patronage to food outlets, introduction to the “Certified Shop” mechanism, services of the Consumer Arbitration Centre, and the measures taken by the Council and consumers organizations in the Mainland for the transfer of complaint cases of consumers.

The China Consumers’ Association has publicized the “Consume Tips” of the Consumer Council on its official website, WeChat account, and forwarded the message to all consumer councils/associations in the Mainland for wide propagation. The Council believes that co-operation between the two parties will bring convenience to mainland consumers, especially those reside in remote cities, and help them better prepared in case they need help in Macao.

The Council will enlarge the dissemination of “Consumer Tips” to better protect the consumer rights of tourists from all areas.

The China Consumers’ Association is a national social organization approved by the State Council, aiming to safeguard consumer rights and to lead the works of all consumer councils/associations of all levels to carry out the work of consumer protection.
