The Secretary for Economy and Finance announced the appointment of members to the General Committee of Consumer Council


The new session of the General Committee of Consumer Council held its first meeting on 18th September. Ho Pui Fan was elected President, and key issues were discussed at the meeting.

According to the Dispatch of the Secretary for Economy and Finance No. 73/2017 in the Official Gazette B.O. #35, Series II, Ho Pui Fan, Lee Koi Ian, Au Thien Yn, Wong Hing Tim Frederick, Kuong Chi Fong, Kuan Fan Kit, Tam Hoi Kei, Paulo do Lago Comandante, Lei Wai Peng, Jan Lei Ioi Hang, and Tse Ka Ming were appointed members of the General Committee of Consumer Council from 25 August 2017 for a term of 2 years.

Members of the General Committee held their first meeting on 18th September, and Ho Pui Fan was elected President. The agenda for the first meeting included the Executive Committee reported to the General Committee about the recent work plans of the Council, especially the price monitoring work and follow-up of complaint cases after the rampage of Typhoon Hato, as well as the coming work plans for the next year. Discussions were made and suggestions were given by members of the General Committee.

In accordance with Law No. 4/95/M and No. 1/98/M, the authority limits of the General Committee include: to provide suggestions on guidelines formulated for the protection of consumers, to approve the Consumer Council’s annual work plans, budget, activity reports and accounts, and to monitor the executions of the decisions of the General Committee by the Executive Committee, etc.
