MIF helps enterprises explore opportunities while getting connected to the state express

MIF helps enterprises “Go Global”

The 22nd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) will take place from 19 to 21 October 2017 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Venetian Macao. In order to enhance Macao’s role as a Business and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between Mainland China and Portuguese Speaking Countries, while further participating in the tasks of constructing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, MIF has invited Angola and Guangdong as its “Partner Country” and “Partner Province” this year. This year’s MIF will be showcasing various pavilions, holding different themed forums and conferences, featuring special highlights and promoting activities. MIF will also be jointly organising presentations and seminars on Cambodia’s investment and tourism with Cambodia – one of the countries along the “Belt and Road” for the first time, trying to grasp the business opportunities brought about by the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The “2017 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) – 2017 PLPEX” will be held concurrently with the 22nd MIF and become an independent exhibition this year.

Since its inception, MIF has participated in and witnessed the business opportunities and dynamic environment under Macao's diverse economic development. It has demonstrated the advantages of Macao as the World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, as well as a Business and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between Mainland China and Portuguese Speaking Countries to local and overseas participants. Last year’s MIF covered an area of over 30,000m2 with more than 1,600 exhibition booths, attracting the participation of delegations from over 50 countries and regions. In this 3-day event, over 380 business negotiation sessions were held in the Business Matching Area, of which 110 were made through the Online Business Matching Service Platform, resulting in contracts being signed for more than 50 projects. Over the years, MIF has become more international and professional, making it one of the city’s major annual international economic and trade events.

This year once again, MIF takes the theme of “Co-operation – Key to Business Opportunities”, with an exhibition area similar to that of last year, covering trade, cultural and creative industries, food products, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In addition, themed pavilions such as the “Partner Country” and “Partner Province” pavilions will also be featured in the Fair. The event offers various fringe activities, which include the “Angola, Guangdong and Macao Trade and Investment Forum”, “Jiangsu-Macao Portuguese Speaking Countries High-level Roundtable on Infrastructure Building”, “The 3rd Young Entrepreneurs Forum of China and Portuguese Speaking Countries”, “The 14th Summit of Chinese Entrepreneurs”, and many more. Meanwhile, MIF will continue to provide a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to promote co-operation, exchanges and development, helping them to “Go Global” and “Bring in Investments” and explore more opportunities.

In order to assist exhibitors to find co-operation partners, promote their products/services and expand their business, MIF continues to provide exhibitors with an array of free business matching and negotiation services, covering purchasing negotiation, brand agency, along with the “Online Business Matching Service Platform” which offers an integrated matching service for pavilions, special arrangements and delegations to enhance overall effectiveness and expand their markets.
