The Macao Chinese Orchestra presents the concert “Wind Clusters” in October

The Macao Chinese Orchestra, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the wind concert “Wind Clusters” on Wednesday, 11 October, at 8pm, at the Dom Pedro V Theatre. Tickets are now available at the Macau Ticketing Network.

In this concert, the Macao Chinese Orchestra presents not only traditional solo wind and percussion pieces, but also chamber music pieces imbued with ethnic elements, which demand high technical and performance skills, including the suona and percussion piece Harvest Celebration; Song of Hometown, a piece that lauds the beauty of hometown; the sheng solo Song of Mesh-weaving, boasting Maoqiang opera music from Shandong Province; the suona, jinghu and orchestra piece A Trip to the Suburbs of the Capital, depicting enchanting views; the chamber music piece Al Laox of the Dong ethnic group from Guangxi Province; the piece One the Distant Land for dizi and orchestra, and Kung Fu, a wind and percussion piece. The concert features extraordinary wind pieces, allowing musicians to convey the charm of folk wind music.

Tickets for the concert “Wind Clusters” are priced at MOP80 and MOP60. A 50% discount is offered for holders of valid full-time Student Cards or Macao Senior Citizen Cards (each student and senior can acquire one discounted ticket per performance). A 40% discount is offered on any ticket purchase of 10 or more tickets for the same concert and for holders of Macao Chinese Orchestra membership card. A 20% discount is offered for holders of valid Macao Teacher Card (each cardholder can acquire one discounted ticket per performance) or for holders of Air Macau boarding pass with destination identified as Macao (MFM) within 7 days upon arrival in Macao, and for MasterCard, Visa Card or UnionPay Card from ICBC (Macau), OCBC Wing Hang or BCM Bank card holders.
