The opening ceremony of 2017 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao China) will be held on Wednesday (27 Sep) Pre-event press release


The opening ceremony of the 2017 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao China) hosted by the Macao S.A.R government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of China and co-ordinated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau (hereafter abbreviated as the Industrial Park),will be held at The Parisian Macao on Wednesday (27 Sep). The event will include the unveiling ceremony of the Public Service Platform of the Industrial Park, the appointment ceremony for experts and advisors, and the brand-awarding and contract signing ceremony for key projects in the Industrial Park.

At this two-day forum themed “Inheritance, Innovation, and Internationalization,” we have invited 600 guests from the Macao S.A.R, Mainland China, the EU, ASEAN, and Portuguese-speaking countries, including authorities from regulatory agencies, experts and scholars from research and development institutions, and senior business directors. During the forum, industry experts and professionals will discuss policies, technologies, marketing strategies and more, that are closely relevant to the topics of “traditional medicine, healthcare industry, and international cooperation.” The aim of these discussions are to combine the 'Belt and Road Initiative' and Macao’s international status as an 'One Centre and One Platform' to enhance international cooperation within the traditional medicine industry of the city, fully utilizing the Industrial Park as “the carrier of the traditional Chinese medicine industry and its culture in the 'Belt and Road Initiative'.

At this forum, experts and scholars, both domestic and abroad, in the traditional Chinese medicine industry will deliver keynote speeches on three major topics: the developmental environment and cooperation of internationalization, the current situation of internationalization and its policies and trends, and the technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the traditional Chinese medicine industry. On the 28th, there will be two roundtable discussions and one investment and financing forum. The themes of the roundtable discussions are, firstly, the standardized development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry and the cultivation of major breeds, and second, the modernization of tradition medicine, the devising of new medicine, and the choices of methods of international cooperation. At the investment and financing forum, experts in relevant fields will analyze the investment and financing environment of traditional Chinese medicine corporations and share their experience with investment strategies and actual cases of overseas M&A by traditional Chinese medicine corporations. In addition, there will also be a project roadshow that will be commented on by experts and investment agencies on-site in order to promote cooperation between parties seeking and offering investment.

This forum has received generous support from the following government agencies, industry associations, and scientific research institutions; Macao Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Macao Health Bureau, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Macao Economic Services, the Permanent Secretariat of China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic Cooperation Forum (Forum Macao), China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products, the University of Macao and Macao University of Science and Technology, among others.
