More than 90 attendees from sectors such as investment, legal and trade participated at the event.
In his speech delivered at the Seminar, President of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Jackson Chang mentioned that IPIM has been playing an active role in promoting the construction of the Sino-Portuguese platform both online and offline. Under the framework of the Sino-Portuguese platform, the “Three Centres” denoting the “Commercial Services Centre for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries,” “Distribution Centre for Food Products from Portuguese-speaking Countries” and “Convention and Exhibition Centre for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” have been taking in shape, with the aim of creating a more favourable environment for investments from Mainland China, Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao. Jackson Chang said as of the end of September this year, the number of bi-lingual service providers registered on the “Human Resources Portal between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” amounted to 1,900 entities, covering legal services, translation and accounting. In recent years, IPIM has been active in promotion arbitration and mediation services, and for the last two years, IPIM has provided support to the WTC Macau Arbitration Centre arranging onsite services during the MIF, as well as building up closer co-operations with organisations including the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Macau Lawyers Association, WTC Macau Arbitration Centre, whereby enquiries can be referred to these organisations to help seeking resolutions, and provide relevant services to the enterprises in need, which in turn, promotes Sino-Portuguese economic and trade activities.
