The second review of the “2016 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Animation Short Films”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) was completed and a total of five entrants were selected as eligible candidates of the Programme. IC will grant each eligible candidate a subsidy of up to MOP240,000 for the production, promotion and marketing of the animation short films.
The “2016 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Animation Short Films” aims to spur the development of Macao’s animation industry, nurture local talents in animation creation, production and planning, enhance their creativity in planning and storytelling techniques and encourage the production of original animations by the sector, as well as promote local animation development through participation in exhibitions, public screenings and online promotion. A total of 22 applications were received. Following the initial and second reviews, the adjudicating panel selected five eligible candidates (in arbitrary order): Lei Pui Weng, Ku Pou Cheng, Pun Lap Fung, Lou Ka Choi and Cheong Chi Pan.
