The Government is to initiate local legislation in order to confirm that the country’s National Anthem Law is applicable in Macao.
The Government’s action followed a decision made on 4 November by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress regarding inclusion of the National Anthem Law in Annex III of Macao’s Basic Law. It means the National Anthem Law would become one of the national laws that apply in the Special Administrative Region (SAR).
The Government would enact the relevant local legislation in accordance with the legislative intent of the National Anthem Law and Macao’s situation, in order to ensure effective and proper implementation in Macao of the National Anthem Law.
