Mandarin’s House Gift Shop calls for the participation of the Macao cultural and creative entities to sell their products on consignment

The Mandarin’s House Gift Shop calls for participation of the Macao cultural and creative entities to sell their products on consignment.

In order to create more channels for selling local cultural and creative products and promote local creativity, every year the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) selects entities from the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries (Database) to present and sell their own creative products on consignment in the Mandarin’s House Cultural Relics Information Centre and Gift Shop. Application for the 2018 consignment programme is now open until Friday, 17th November 2017. All interested cultural and creative entities are welcome to apply for inclusion in the Database to join the selection of 2018 consignment programme. Those already on the list of the Database are qualified for selection and need not re-apply, but may submit any updates to IC before the application deadline.

IC set up a Cultural Relics Information Centre and Gift Shop in the Mandarin’s House in 2011. The Gift Shop markets souvenirs themed on the Mandarin’s House and Macao cultural heritage, IC publications and design items, as well as products of Macao’s cultural and creative brands, on consignment. The shop sells products such as design items, anime and comic products, audio and visual products as well as books and other publications.

In the 2018 consignment programme, the number of selected cultural and creative entities and the categories concerned are according to the following quota: five entities in the general category of cultural and creative products, six entities in creative handicrafts, two entities in accessories, and no quota limit in books and publications, pop music and non-profit charitable organisation categories. The selection criteria are based on a number of factors such as product originality, and relevance to the Mandarin’s House or other World Heritage sites in Macao. IC will arrange the consignment by drawing lots if the number of eligible entities exceeds the above-mentioned quotas.

The Information Collection Form for applying for inclusion in the Database can be downloaded on the IC website (www.icm.gov.mo/dpicc) or on the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries Website (www.macaucci.gov.mo). Interested parties can apply for inclusion by submitting the completed form in print, along with the electronic copy of the form and attachments, at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building in Tap Seac Square during office hours.

For enquiries, please contact staff members of IC, Ms. Choi through tel. no. (853) 8399 6293 or Ms. Lau, through tel. no. (853) 8399 6296, during office hours.
