MPI invites applications to enrol on its undergraduate programmes for 2018/19

Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) will soon accept applications from prospective local students for 2018/19 entry to undergraduate programmes. Graduating senior high school students and working professionals who wish to pursue further studies are invited to apply from 4 December 2017 to 19 January 2018. With the aim of cultivating multi-faceted talents well versed in Chinese, Portuguese and English who can contribute to the realisation of Macao’s ‘One Centre, One Platform’ development goal, in recent years MPI’s various undergraduate programmes have offered numerous opportunities for students to gain international educational experience during their four years of learning.

MPI has long upheld the principles of student-centeredness and quality teaching. Covering many professional areas of study, MPI's degree programmes are relevant to the economic and social needs of Macao. These programmes emphasise both theoretical and practical knowledge and have nurtured application-oriented professionals who are now serving at public or private organisations.

In recent years MPI has introduced several new undergraduate programmes which adopt the ‘3+1’ and ‘2+2’ mode of learning - through one to two years of studies at an overseas institution, students are able to broaden their international horizons and develop their language competencies. MPI has also cooperated with renowned universities and over 200 organisations worldwide to provide exchange or internship opportunities outside Macao, including Portugal, Chinese Mainland, United States, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. MPI’s undergraduate programmes in the area of education, including new programmes in International Chinese Language Education, Portuguese Language, and Computer Education, enable students to achieve the teacher qualifications recognised by Macao’s Education and Youth Affairs Bureau.

MPI is Macao’s first higher education institution to have successfully undertaken an institutional review conducted by the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). MPI’s quality of teaching is on a par with excellent universities worldwide as its various undergraduate degree programmes have received academic and professional validations. MPI’s commitment to academic quality assurance ensures the best learning environment for students. In the upcoming academic year MPI will continue to recruit mostly local students to nurture more professionals for the development of Macao. MPI offers various admission routes for Macao students, including an admission scheme that allows eligible candidates to be exempted from written exams and gain advanced entry after passing an interview. The Institute also welcomes candidates with special talents to apply for extra points or exemptions from written exams.
