2018MIECF: Application under Subsidy Scheme for SMEs to participate at the Green Showcase will expire on 29 December

Hosted by the Macao SAR Government, coordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA), the “2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition” (2018MIECF) will be held in Macao from 12th April to 14th April, 2018.

Building eco-cities is not only a topic widely discussed in the field of environmental protection, but also a direction for the future development of our country. “Shaping of Eco-Cities for Inclusive Green Economy” as the main axis of 2018MIECF aims to enhance the development of eco-city construction and foster economy growth through sustainable practices. Case sharing, policy analysis, technology display and business exchange will be featured on improving people’s living standard, developing social well-being as well as promoting regional green economic exchanges and co-operation.

MIECF will be held at The Venetian Macao this year. As in the past editions, MIECF welcomes the participation of environmental enterprises from various green sectors; with “Eco-Cities” being the main theme of 2018MIECF, special showcase of related products and solutions will be highlighted at the “Green Showcase”. The well-received “Green Building Pavilion” aims to provide our professional visitors from all over the world with the display of cutting-edge and specialised green building technology and solutions, and to foster Green Building development in the region through industry networking events.

Being the annual green economy platform in the region, Macao enterprises in the environmental sector are welcome to present advanced environmental technologies and solutions during the Green Showcase, and to enhance co-operation and exchange with international markets, including Portuguese-speaking Countries, European Union and beyond. To encourage local enterprises’ participation, 2018MIECF again will be offering “Macao SME Exhibition Subsidy Scheme” with the aim to provide qualified Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) with up to 60% subsidy on exhibition fee. Through the Subsidy Scheme, MIECF would like to attract more local SMEs to exhibit in the event, to further stimulate the exchange and co-operation in environmental protection industry between Macao, Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and the international market, and to explore business opportunities through this green platform.

Interested local SMEs must fulfil the following requirement: at least 50% of the company shareholders are Macao residents or wholly-owned Macao enterprises; should be registered with the Macao Financial Services Bureau (DSF) for at least 2 years and have fulfilled tax obligations. Qualified SMEs can enjoy up to 60% subsidy on exhibition fee, i.e., standard booth of 9 square meter: special rent MOP4,880 (standard fee: MOP12,200); raw space of 9 square meter: special rent MOP3,600 (standard fee: MOP9,000) (only for the first 9 square meter of exhibition, and raw space exhibitor must take up at least 18 square meter). Due to limited quota available, application will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis and the organiser reserves the right of final decision on application approval. The deadline for application is 29th December, 2017 (Friday).
