Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre will reopen to the public from 31st January 2018

The Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, an affiliated gallery of the Macao Museum of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, suffered extensive damage, both indoors and outdoors, caused by typhoon Hato last year. In order to ensure the public’s safety and ensure the provision of quality services, a comprehensive assessment of the building and a series of repair works were carried out. Upon conclusion of these works, the Centre will reopen to the public from 31st January 2018.

The Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, located in front of the Dr. Carlos d’Assumpção Park in NAPE district, Macao, with the sea at its back and being surrounded by beautiful scenery, is one of Macao’s tourist attractions. The upper level of the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre features a Contemplation Room painted with the characters and divine words of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, among others, at its dome; publication and books related to Macao’s history and culture, as well as souvenirs rich in the city’s characteristics are also available for sale at the sales counter located on this floor. The lower level offers a Multipurpose Room (with a capacity for 50 people) and a small library that offers over 800 volumes of books and audio-visual materials dedicated to different religions and philosophies to users for research and reading purposes.

The Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre will be open daily from 10am to 6pm, and will be closed on Fridays. For more information, please visit the website www.macaumuseum.gov.mo, or contact the Centre through tel. no. 2875 1516 or the Macao Museum through tel. no. 2835 7911, during office hours.
