Birth Allowance Increases to 5,000 Patacas


The Macao SAR Gazette today published Executive Order No. 26/2018 about the increase of birth allowance of the social security system to 5,000 patacas. Its effectiveness dates back to 1 January this year.

The birth allowance is calculated based on the birth date or adoption date of the child. To promote healthy births and the increase of birth rate, the SAR Government has increased the birth allowance of the social security system to 5,000 patacas. The new amount applies to applications for childbirth or adoption of child submitted on or after 1 January this year, and both eligible parents can receive the birth allowance. Eligible parents who submitted their applications in January will be paid with the allowance in February.
