DSEC launches Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area website

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) announced the launch of a website for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to reflect the cultural and economic development of the Greater Bay Area cities. The website brings together principal statistical indicators of the Greater Bay Area cities and data about cultural and economic exchanges between Macao and the other Greater Bay Area cities for public reference.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a city cluster formed by nine cities in the Guangdong province (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing) and the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao. To facilitate public understanding of the development of the Greater Bay Area cities, statistics on the website are compiled based on information from the statistical authorities in the Greater Bay Area.

DSEC indicated that the website is still in its early infancy and they will continue to explore different ways and channels for the collection, compilation and presentation of statistical data on the Greater Bay Area cities. DSEC is striving to enrich the statistical indicators on the website and gathers comments and suggestions from the community about the website to further improve the content.

The website, which is available in traditional and simplified Chinese, Portuguese and English, can be accessed through the DSEC website (www.dsec.gov.mo) or directly at www.dsec.gov.mo/BayArea. For comments and enquiries about the website, please contact the Documentation and Information Centre of DSEC at info@dsec.gov.mo or 8399 5311.
