The DSEJ reminds parents of children entering kindergarten for the first time to print the “Registration Slip” and complete the enrolment process

The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau continues to implement the “Central Registration for Children Entering Kindergarten for the First Time” (hereinafter referred to as “Central Registration”) for the academic year 2018/2019. School admission interviews were smoothly conducted in March and the admission lists will be released on 9th and 10th April. The DSEJ reminds parents to print the “Registration Slip” at the self-service kiosks in different districts between 3rd and 14th April, and submit it to the school selected for their children to attend within the specific period so as to complete the enrolment process. The “Registration Slip” is valid until 30th April this year.

Parents can print the "Registration Slip" from 3rd April onwards

Parents must print the “Registration Slip” between 3rd and 14th April. If the child is a Macao resident, parents only need to bring the child’s valid Macao resident identity card and print the slip at the self-service kiosks. For children of non-Macao residents and have possessed the central registration, their parents can login to the DSEJ website, input the child’s identification document number and the SMS verification code to download and print the “Registration Slip.

If non-Macao residents want to study in Macao, they must possess a stay or residence permit for over 90 days issued by the authorised entity of the Macao SAR. For the related children who comply with the requirements for studying in Macao, but have not processed the central registration, their parents must bring the child’s and the child’s mother/father/guardian’s original identification document as well as the slip of authorisation to stay to the DSEJ counter(s) in person to print the “Registration Slip”.

If parents were unable to print the “Registration Slip”, they can go to the counters of the DSEJ or the Centre of Permanent Education, Centre of Educational Activities of Taipa under the DSEJ in person to process the registration slip between 3rd and 30th April (except Ching Ming Festival).

Schools release the admission list from 9th April onwards

Parents please note that schools will release the admission list in different ways on 9th and 10th April, including the school website, school bulletin boards, SMS or telephone notification. Besides, parents of admitted children must submit the “Registration Slip” in person to the preferred school on school working days between 11th and 14th April. Each “Registration Slip” can be used once only; therefore, parents should think carefully before deciding which school to enrol their child in and submit the slip to.

Schools release the admission list of waitlisted students from 16th April onwards

Schools will release the admission list of waitlisted students from 16th April onwards; parents can submit the “Registration Slip” to the preferred school or complete the school transfer procedure for their child at the designated period set by the schools.

If children have not been admitted to any schools after 16th April, or parents want to enrol their child to another school, parents can visit the DSEJ website to check the remaining K1 places of each school and go to the schools that still accept enrolment for enquiries and registration.

There are sufficient K1 places in the academic year 2018/2019

According to the information of the DSEJ, sufficient K1 places are provided in the academic year 2018/2019; there are 7,500 K1 places, however, only over 6,500 children have completed the central registration. If residents would like to know more information about the “Central Registration”, including the address of the DSEJ counter(s), service hours and the locations of self-service kiosks, they can visit the DSEJ website (www.dsej.gov.mo), DSEJ App or Wechat (DSEJ Wechat:dsejmacau); or call 8797 2309 for enquiries or applying for the “Service of consultation and arrangement of school places”.
