Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition “Typa Anchorage: Names of the Past and the Present” was inaugurated on Thursday, 19 April, at 6:30pm, at the Nostalgic House of Taipa Houses and was officiated by the Deputy Chief of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R., Xin Jianbo; the Head of the Department of Exhibitions and Museums of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Lei Lai Kio; the member of the Cultural Consultative Committee, Sam Io Cheong; and the Principal of the Macao Lingnan Middle School, Ao Cam Iong.

The exhibition will showcase various artefacts of historical significance, including ancient maps of Macao such as the “Map of the Typa Anchorage and of Macao in the 18th Century” and the “Map of Macao and the islands in its vicinity (1891)”, as well as ancient books like Hai Dao Tu Shuo (The China Sea Directory) and Guangdong Tongzhi (Guangdong Annals) of the Qing dynasty, along with the e-book version of Hai Dao Tu Shuo available for visitors to get to know its intriguing content.
The exhibition also features the activity “Searching for “You” – Check in with the place name in Taipa and Coloane”, in which participants will stand a chance to receive a souvenir after completing the specified steps.
