The Macao Creative Pavilion at the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair was inaugurated


The 14th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) is held from 10 to 14 May at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Cultural Industries Fund cooperated to set up the “Macao Creative Pavilion”, promoting the participation of Macao’s design and performing arts entities. The “Macao Creative Pavilion”, themed on Macao creativity, showcases and commercializes local cultural and creative products in the fair.

The opening ceremony of the “Macao Creative Pavilion” was held on Thursday, 10 May, at 3pm, and was officiated by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Mok Ian Ian; the Acting President of the Administrative Committee of the Cultural Industries Fund of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Chu Miu Lai; the President of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration of Shenzhen Municipality, Zhang Heyun; the Vice President of the Committee of Cultural Industries of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Hsu Hsiu-Chu; the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Macau Design Centre, Dirco Fong; and the CEO and Creative Director of the Chessman Entertainment Production Co., Ltd., Che Fok Sang.

This year the “Macao Creative Pavilion”, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Cultural Industries Fund, is installed in section No. 2D03 in the Creative Design Hall (Hall 2), themed on “Macao creativity”. The pavilion aims to display and promote Macao’s original designs and accomplishments of the performing arts, highlighting Macao’s cultural and creative brands and their image, thus encouraging the exhibitor to expand their market in Mainland China and sales channels.

A total of ten cultural and creative entities from Macao participated in the fair, including the MCDC Design Centre Macau Co., Ltd., MO-Design Ltd., Todot Planning and Design Co., Ltd., Hylé Design Macau, Leathership Creation Co., Ltd., Chessman Entertainment Production Co., Ltd., Manner Culture Ltd., One Country Entertainment and Production Co., Ltd., SP Entertainment and TDSM Dance Studio Company Ltd.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao organize the “Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao Cultural Industry Cooperation Forum cum Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural Cooperation Forum” at this year’s Fair. The President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Mok Ian Ian, attends the forum and is invited to be the a guest speaker.

IC has organized the participation of Macao’s cultural and creative sector in the ICIF since 2006, and has also been inviting local cultural and creative entities to join the Macao Creative Pavilion following its inception in 2010. The five-day event counts with a number of exhibitors and organizations from Mainland China and overseas. The venue features the Cultural Industries Hall; the Creative Design Hall; the Film, Television and Animation Hall; the Press and Publication Hall; the Digital Culture Hall; the Art Hall; the Belt & Road • International Hall; the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall; and the Arts & Crafts Hall.
