IPIM Joins Hands with Local Sector to Promote Macao’s MICE Advantages in Frankfurt

IPIM representative introduced the advantages of Macao MICE to the attendees

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised a number of local enterprises, including hotels, travel agencies, professional congress organisers, destination management companies and conference service providers to participate in IMEX Frankfurt 2018 in Germany from 15 to 17 May. Thanks to the Macao Pavilion set up by IPIM at the venue and the joint effort of Macao enterprises and IPIM, the advantages of Macao’s conventions and exhibitions were in the limelight at the event, enhancing Macao’s progress of “going global”. During the event, almost 150 sessions were successfully made at the Macao Pavilion.

IMEX Frankfurt, with its scale growing year by year, is one of the major exhibitions of MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions). This year’s IMEX has attracted over 3,000 exhibitors and 5,000 qualified buyers from more than 150 countries. Featuring Chinese calligraphy and art of Chinese tea in its networking activities, together with Macao’s unique and original souvenirs distributed to potential international buyers and event organisers, the Macao Pavilion has successfully gathered a great number of attendees and enhanced the international visibility of Macao’s original products, creating more opportunities for Macao enterprises.

International Event Organisers Enticed by Macao’s Originality

According to Ms. Leong, representative of a Macao travel agency, exhibiting at IMEX gave them opportunities to meet with buyers and event organisers from all parts of the world, and to expand business in relation to international conferences, as IMEX is an internationally known MICE event. When the event organisers choose the event venue, factors such as geographic location, transportation and MICE facilities as well as the culture of the destination are always taken into consideration. At IMEX, some international event organisers expressed their interest in choosing Macao for its quality in these aspects.
