IPIM to Hold Advanced Enterprise Training on Food Trade at the End of the Month

IPIM to Hold Advanced Enterprise Training on “How to Sell Food & Beverage Products to China”

With a view to enhancing the development of Macao as a distribution center for food of Portuguese-speaking countries, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will join hands with the Macao office of Enterprise Europe Network Central China (EENCC Macao) to organise the Advanced Enterprise Training on “How to Sell Food & Beverage Products to China”. This training course is in two parts, the first of which will be held at the Multi-Function Conference Hall of IPIM on 28 May on the 19th floor of Edifício China Civil Plaza, 263 Alameda Dr. Carlos D'Assumpção. The latter part of training will be held in the fourth quarter of this year, when a delegation will be organised to visit and learn from foreign enterprises which have successfully expanded their market in Mainland China. Those who are engaged or interested in food trade are welcome to participate.

Branding Experts to Decipherthe Essentials of Entering the Mainland’s Market

Last year, the first ever Enterprise Training on “How to Sell Food & Beverage Products to China” and to the visit to Beijing were well received by the participating enterprises. Some of them said that they have grasped the precise information for entering the mainland market through the training, addressing which, IPIM continues this training this year and has upgraded its contents. This year, Rafael Jimenez, advisor of EU SME Centre Business Development, and Bjørn Hembre, general manager of BRANDITAT, have been invited to be the keynote speakers. They will share their experience gained from the market and in-depth analysis on the procedures for importing food into the Chinese mainland, requisites for accessing the Chinese food market, effective sales channels in Mainland China, online marketing and promotion, practices of domestic e-commerce platforms and the cross-border ones and the differences between the two, as well as real case analysis. The practical contents of the training are expected to give distributors for Macao food and food of Portuguese-speaking countries and those for overseas food a better understanding of the actual operations of entry into the mainland China market.

Delegations to Draw Wisdom from Successful Enterprises in Mainland China in the Fourth Quarter

The Enterprise Training will be conducted in English (with simultaneousinterpretation in Cantonese and Portuguese provided). People engaged or interested in food trade are welcome to attend. Participants who sign up for the Enterprise Training will have the opportunity to jointhe delegation to Mainland China and visit foreign food enterprises including supermarkets, restaurants, retail outlets of foreign wine importers, and e-commerce companies, and to study their software and hardwarefacilitiesfor operating in Mainland China. Application will be processed based on a first-come-first-served basis due to limited availability.
