The online registration and exchange process of the Dog and Pig Zodiac Banknotes for the two Issuing Banks will be conducted jointly. Macao identity card holders can conduct the online registration via the webpage of the Monetary Authority of Macao (http://www.amcm.gov.mo/static/banknotes/terms_en.html) within the registration period from 9:00 am on 11 June until 6:00 pm on 29 June 2018.
During the registration period, Macao residents bearing the valid Macao permanent and non-permanent identity card can log onto the joint registration system of the two Issuing Banks via the webpage of the Authority to conduct a one-time online registration. Each Macao resident can only conduct a single registration and is required to conduct the exchange for the two types of Zodiac Banknotes in one go, with no provision for separate exchange for only one type of note. While registrants should retain their registration records, they can also log onto the online registration system for inquiry of their confirmed registration details.
The tentative exchange quantity is 25 pieces of Dog and 25 pieces of Pig Banknotes of each Issuing Bank, namely in total 100 pieces of the two types of Zodiac Banknotes from the two Issuing Banks. Depending on the final number of registrants, the actual quantity to be exchanged may be adjusted upwards and will be announced after the end of registration period. Apart from the two Issuing Banks - Bank of China Macau Branch and Banco Nacional Ultramarino, other exchange locations include the selected branches of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Limited, Tai Fung Bank Limited, OCBC Wing Hang Bank Limited, Luso International Banking Limited, Banco Comercial de Macau, China Construction Bank Macau Branch and China Guangfa Bank Macau Branch.
The exchange period is between 27 August 2018 and 9 November 2018. Registrants should bring along their valid ID card and can proceed in person to exchange for the notes by cash at the chosen location on the selected day. In respect of the note exchange conducted by authorized representatives, the latter will need to bring along their original ID card and submit the following documents:
- Authorization form [downloaded from AMCM’s website] signed by the registrant;
- Registrant’s photocopy of ID card bearing his / her signature;
- Representative’s photocopy of ID card bearing his / her signature.
At designated branches of Bank of China and Banco Nacional Ultramarino, online registration service will be provided for those elderly citizens who require assistance.
