First movie by Portuguese master and film director Manoel de Oliveira, “Aniki Bóbó”
The first edition of the “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, was launched last week with five major highlights, fully displaying Macao’s role as a bridge between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and showcasing the charm of a multicultural renowned city. This Friday (13 July), one of these activities, the “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” will come to a close with some of the works of a great Portuguese film master, while the exhibitions “Chapas Sínicas—Stories of Macao in Torre do Tombo” and the “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” will be open until September this year.
The “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” featured with several different movies throughout this week at Cinematheque‧Passion. This Friday (13 July) the Festival comes to an end with the first movie by Portuguese master and film director Manoel de Oliveira, “Aniki Bóbó” and with his first documentary “Douro River, Fluvial Toil” (Douro, Faina Fluvial). These is an opportunity not to be missed. The Festival presents several excellent movies, and the respective tickets can be purchased at the Cinematheque‧Passion. The public is invited to buy the tickets either in the ticket office in the Cinematheque or on the official website (www.cinematheque-passion.mo). Tickets are priced at MOP 60. Full-time students and senior citizens aged 65 or above can enjoy a 50% discount. On each purchase of 10 regular tickets or more can buyers can enjoy a 20% discount at the ticket office of Cinematheque . Passion.
Phase one of the exhibition “Chapas Sínicas—Stories of Macao in Torre do Tombo” is being held at the The Handover Gifts Museum of Macao. Besides exhibiting a number of documents and precious records already inscribed on the internationally recognised “Memory of the World Register”, which tell the past and present of Macao. This exhibition will be extended until 7 August. The four exhibitions of the “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”: “Alter Ego”, “The Universe”, “Penetrate” and “Aiya” have already opened to the public, linked through unique venues in Macao, showcasing charismatic contemporary works by several artists from Macao, China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, taking the visitors in a stunning visual journey. The exhibitions are open to the general public and admission is free.
