The Consumer Council added a “Smart Choice” function to its website version of “Supermarket price information platform” to let consumers check which on sale items are available among the surveyed 100 supermarkets, and whether gifts are attached or not. The new function provides more efficient price information for consumers’ reference to make it easier to purchase lowest priced products.
“Smart choice” contains on sale items information
The Council continues to enhance the quality of its supermarket price survey work, in order to let consumers get hold of market information accurately and utilize the collected data more effectively, a new function named “Smart choice” has been added to the platform. Consumers are now able to use the function to grasp information regarding all on sale items in 100 supermarkets in the local 7 parishes, including discount prices, offer expiry date, and gifts, etc.. Moreover, if two items are marked on sale at the same time in two supermarkets, “Smart choice” lets consumers know where to get the lowest priced product.
The “Smart choice” will become available once the survey report of each parish is published on the Council’s platform, consumers may access the information on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo) to prepare for every day’s shopping.
The Council will take note on the comments for the new “Smart choice” function and continues to improve its “Supermarket price information platform” for the enhancement of market transparency so that consumers will be able to save time and money.
