Starting Today, Seniors Aged 75 or Older can Apply for Withdrawal of Funds from the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System’s Individual Accounts

Starting in August, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao), in stages by age group, accepts the applications for withdrawal of funds from eligible individual account owners of the non-mandatory central provident fund system. Starting today, seniors who are 75 years of age or older, individuals who have received disability pension from the FSS for more than one year, or those who are currently receiving special disability subsidy from the Social Welfare Bureau may apply for withdrawal of funds from individual accounts of the non-mandatory central provident fund system. Starting in September, the FSS will accept applications for withdrawals from seniors aged between 65 and 74.

This year, there are about 60,000 account owners who are eligible to withdraw funds. For the convenience of dispersing the flow of people, the FSS follows last year’s method, and accept the withdrawal applications from the public in two stages according to age. The first phase accepts the withdrawal applications from seniors aged 75 or older (born in or before September 1943) who are included in the list, individuals who have received disability pension from the FSS for more than one year, and those who are currently receiving special disability subsidy from the Social Welfare Bureau may apply for withdrawal of funds. The FSS has mailed out application forms to the above individuals earlier. After the application is approved, the money will be paid on October 23. In September, the FSS will also mail out application forms to seniors aged between 65 and 74 (born between October 1943 and September 1953). Starting in September, they can apply to the Social Security Fund for withdrawal of funds, and they can receive the money on November 23 at the earliest.

Eligible account owners can apply through self-service machines located in various districts of Macao, or submit the completed application forms to the following locations:

(1) Temporary office of the Social Security Fund at Tap Seac (located at the Exhibition Hall of Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion);
(2) Service Centre of the Macao SAR;
