[Seeking Business Opportunities in Shenzhen] IPIM and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Organises over 30 Macao Entrepreneurs to Have Business Visit, Exchange and Exploration of New Opportunities in Shenzhen

IPIM and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province organised over 30 Macao enterprisers to have field inspection in Shenzhen

The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province jointly held the “Macao Entrepreneur Delegation for Business Exchange in Guangdong (Shenzhen)” on 28 November, and organised a delegation of over 30 representatives from commerce associations and enterprises from MICE, trade, manufacturing, catering, retail, logistics, cultural and creative industries to conduct business visit and exchange in Shenzhen. According to some of the Macao enterprises which join IPIM’s exchange delegation for the first time, this trip gives them opportunities to expand business and market, as the filed inspection deepened their understanding of Shenzhen’s development, and the direct exchange build up their contacts with local enterprises and lay a foundation for further co-operation.

The delegation was led by IPIM President Vincent U and Level III Division Rank Official of the Foreign Investment Promotion Office of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Li Zhiqiang. Deputy Director-General of Investment Promotion Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Huang Xiaoyu joined the relevant activities.

Establishing a Platform to Promote Shenzhen and Macao Enterprises to Explore Business Opportunities with Wider Network

The “Macao-Shenzhen Enterprises Business Exchange Seminar” was held on the same day, gathering nearly 50 representatives of Shenzhen and Macao enterprises. At the seminar, Investment Promotion Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality introduced Shenzhen’s business environment, helping Macao enterprises understand the development prospect and opportunities. Some of the Macao-funded enterprises engaged in environmental protection technology, cultural and creative fashion, shared their experience of setting up companies in Shenzhen. They also shared that opening companies in Shenzhen allowed them to make more deals at the mainland market in a more convenient way and to expand their businesses by seizing the opportunities arising from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Some of the Shenzhen companies share their views on the opportunities in Shenzhen’s market. After the seminar, companies from both regions had passionate communication and explore co-operation opportunities.

Helping Macao Enterprises Understand Shenzhen’s Development Prospects through On-site Inspections

During this trip, the delegation visited the Shenzhen Industrial Museum, Bao’an Low-Altitude Economy Industry Public Service Centre, and Kingdee International Software Group Limited, a well-known Shenzhen cloud service provider that has opened branch company in Macao, to learn about Shenzhen’s industrial and technological innovation achievements, and the Bao'an District UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) System Application Test Base, the first low-altitude economic industry public service centre in China, as well as the latest information on the application of digital technology in various industries.

A delegate from food industry said that the event could help Macao enterprises to understand Shenzhen’s business environment and the application of innovative technology could enhance the company’s competitive advantages, upgrade and future development.

A Macao enterprise said that this trip enabled them to experience Shenzhen’s economic vitality and technological competitiveness in-person, which, together with the transport and trade convenience brought about by the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, will constitute huge potential for co-operation. This Macao company was also considering investing in Shenzhen to grasp opportunities in GBA.

This delegation was jointly held by IPIM and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province. In the future, more activities will be held to support enterprise commercial and trade development, to continuously strengthen regional co-operation, and to promote Macao’s economic upgrading and transformation, and to accelerate its integration into the Greater Bay Area.
