First-time Application


How to process

Required Document:
1a. Legible photocopy of identity document(s); or
1b. Legible photocopy of the M7-Business Tax Form issued by the Financial Services Bureau; or
1c. Legible photocopy of the M8-Business Tax Form issued by the Financial Services Bureau;
2. Proof of residential address (e.g. water bill or electricity bill).

2. Islands District Public Services Centre – Seac Pai Van Station:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)
3. Macao Municipal Kennel:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)
4. Coloane Municipal Kennel:
Monday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (no lunch break, closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)

Application fee:
1. Neutered dogs: Mop 300.00
2. Non-neutered dogs: Mop 900.00

Remarks/ points to note for application

Important note:
1. The license is valid for 3 years;
2. Applications for license renewal must be made within 60 days before the expiry date;
3. The fee for first-time application for pet dog license includes veterinary examination, microchip implantation, rabies vaccination and metal identification tag (for one dog);
4. According to Animal Protection Law (Law no. 4/2016), persons who satisfy all of the following conditions simultaneously may apply for a licence:
1) Natural person aged 18 or above with capacity, or legal person established in accordance with law;
2) Not under the condition that the additional penalties or sanctions as stipulated in Clause 1 2) of Article 28 or Article 30 2) apply.
5. In accordance with Chief Executive Writ of Instruction no. 335/2016, obtaining, raising, breeding or importing dogs of the species below is prohibited:
1) Tibetan mastiff;
2) Fila Braziliero and its crossbreeds;
3) Dogo Argentino and its crossbreeds;
4) Pit Bull Terrier and its crossbreeds;
5) Japanese Tosa and its crossbreeds.
6. For a dog referred to in the preceding article, which is obtained, bred or imported before 12 October 2016, the owner of the dog must register it with the IAM and neuter it before 12 April 2017 in order to continue raising it.
