Permit for Construction Works in Tombs or Coffin Chambers

How to process

Required Document:

  1. Declaration – Relationship with the deceased (011/DHA/DHAL);
  2. A clear photocopy of the identification document of the applicant;
  3. Declaration of works in cemetery (012/DHA/DHAL) stating the commencement and completion dates of the works;
  4. A clear photocopy of the identification document of the person in charge of the funeral company.

Documents for optional submission (Mandatory, if applicable):

  1. Marked layout plan or photograph (for permanent tombs and tombs in St. Miguel Arcanjo Cemetery);
  2. Certificate of use of tomb or other relevant supporting document(s) (for permanent tombs).                                                               

Documents to be presented: The original of the identification document of the applicant is to be produced.

Islands District Public Services Centre – Seac Pai Van Station

Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)

Service Office in Our Lady Mercy Cemetery

Mondays to Thursdays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm 2:30 pm – 5:45 pm

Fridays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm

(Closed on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays)

Application fee:

License for works in tombs or coffin chambers (every 30 days or less than 30 days): MOP 200.00

Form fee: Not Applicable
Stamp Duty: 10% of the application fee
Deposit: Not Applicable

Processing time: 3 working days


Remarks/ points to note for application

Important note: Stipulations of Articles 15 and 16 of Administrative Regulation no. 37/2003 “Regulations on Management, Operation and Supervision of Cemeteries” amended by Administrative Regulation no. 22/2019 must be complied with.
