How to process

Deadline for application: Not applicable

Processing procedure and required documents

  1. Application form (034/DIA/DSA);
  2. Information registration form (008/DIA/DSA);
  3. If the applicant is an individual, a clear photocopy of the identification document of the signatory (with both sides of the identification document photocopied on the same page of an A4 size paper) is required to be submitted; if the applicant is a legal person, a photocopy of the valid Business Registration Certificate (exemption for companies registered at the Commerce and Movable Property Registry of Macao), or the valid Certificate of Association and Certificate of Leadership Structure issued by the Identification Services Bureau should be submitted. The application form is required to be signed by the legitimate representative, stamped (if applicable) and submitted with a photocopy of the identification document of the signatory;
  4. A photocopy of Business Tax – New Registration/Amendment Form (M/1 Form) registered at the Financial Services Bureau;
  5. The original written report of property registration (exemption for establishments registered at the Property Registry of Macao) or certificate of the usage of the establishment issued by the Land and Urban Construction Bureau;
  6. The original location plan of the facilities and equipment of the establishment in the scale of 1:100 with explanatory notes.

30 working days counting from the day when all documents are submitted


Remarks/ Important notes on application

  1. The issued import registration is non-transferrable;
  2. If an establishment that has been granted import registration relocates or changes its name, it is required to make a new application for registration;
  3. The formalities can only be carried out after submission of all required documents;
  4. The import registration is valid from the date of issue to 31 December of the calendar year;
  5. No fee is applicable for import registration. However, application and review are still required for applicants to be qualified for registration of import establishments;
  6. Each application form is limited to application for one item only;
  7. If the applicant is not a Macao resident, in accordance with the stipulations of the current “Regulation on Prohibition of Illegal Work”, personal and direct engagement of non-residents in activities for their own benefit is subject to prior administrative approval for this purpose;
  8. For applications made in the name of a legal person, if the shareholders / members of the administration and management body of a company are non-Macao residents who are responsible for the management of company and/or performing the business duties on behalf of the company, they should obtain relevant working permits;
  9. In case of necessity, the original certification documents are required to be submitted at the request of the administrative entity;
  10. In case of any update of the operational information of the establishment, it is required to notify IAM in writing.

It is required to meet the requirements of relevant hygiene guidelines for food safety which can be found on the Trade Guidelines on the “Food Safety Information” website https://www.foodsafety.gov.mo/e/tradeguidelines/listwithtab.
