How to apply

Application time limit: No relevant stipulation.

Application procedures and necessary documents: 

1. Application approach
   Macao residents who lose their identity card outside Macao and have no other legal entry document, can apply in person at the Application locations in office hours.
2. Required Documents
   1. A completed application letter for identity verification;
   2. Proof of report of loss issued by competent authorities of region at which document is lost;
   3. Information helpful for verification of interested person’s identity.

Remarks / Points to note

1. Immigration officers conduct a preliminary examination of any Macao resident who fails to present an identity card or travel document upon entry or return to Macao because his/her identification document is lost or stolen outside Macao. Immigration officers also compose an application letter for verification of identity and capture fingerprints for the resident, whose entry will be permitted after the Border Control Department verifies his/her identity through the database shared by the Identification Bureau.
2. Macao resident who use the identity verification by fingerprint system should have successfully registered for the Automated Passenger Clearance System.
