How to apply

Macao residents who are aged 7 or above and holding a smart ID card are required to register for the Automated Passenger Clearance System of the Mainland before they can use the joint automated inspection channels for immigration clearance.

Remarks / Points to note

  1. Persons who have or have not registered for the Automated Passenger Clearance System can still use the traditional channels for immigration clearance.
  2. The joint inspection automated channels at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Checkpoint, the Checkpoint of Macao Port Zone of Hengqin Port and the Qingmao Checkpoint are to be used by eligible Mainland residents, Macao residents and Hong Kong permanent residents only. If these residents cannot use the joint inspection automated channels (joint automated inspection channels) for certain reasons (e.g. damage of the chip embedded in their identity document, failure to have the biometics such as fingerprint or facial images compared, wheelchair user or oversize luggage, etc.), they can use the manned inspection channels. Likewise, children from the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao who are holders of the above documents but unable to use the joint inspection automated channels owing to age or height restrictions can also use the manned inspection channels.
