Application procedures and necessary documents:
- Border Gate Checkpoint
Drivers holding driving licences that meet the requirements of Mainland and Macao can drive vehicles bearing both Mainland and Macao licence plates to the Border Gate Checkpoint and go through immigration clearance at the vehicle channels. - Checkpoint of Macao Port Zone of Hengqin Port
Drivers holding driving licences that meet the requirements of Mainland and Macao can drive vehicles bearing a Macao licence plate or both Hengqin and Macao licence plates to the Checkpoint of Macao Port Zone of Hengqin Port and go through immigration clearance at the vehicle channels. - Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Checkpoint
Drivers who are eligible to drive cross-border vehicles between Guangdong and Macao or Hong Kong and Macao can drive vehicles bearing both Guangdong and Macao licence plates or Hong Kong and Macao licence plates (the person driving a vehicle that travels between Hong Kong and Macao should be a designated driver and should have completed the formalities of the relevant departments regarding travel between the two regions) to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Checkpoint and go through immigration clearance at the vehicle channels.
Target Groups and Application Eligibility
- Going through immigration clearance at the vehicle channels at the Border Gate Checkpoint
- Drivers: Macao residents and visitors holding driving licences that meet the requirements of both Mainland and Macao
- On-board passengers: Diplomatic personnel, Macao SAR residents, PRC Two-way Exit Permit holders, Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card holders, Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card holders, persons other than the above five categories but aged below 18 (when unaccompanied by any adult passenger only)
- Going through immigration clearance at the vehicle channels at the Checkpoint of Macao Port Zone at Hengqin Port
- Drivers: Macao residents and visitors holding driving licences that meet the requirements of both Mainland and Macao
- On-board passengers: People with disability or reduced mobility and Chinese citizens in need such as seniors aged 70 or above, children aged 10 or below, and pregnant women.
- Going through immigration clearance at the vehicle channels at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Checkpoint
- Drivers: Macao residents and visitors who are eligible to drive cross-border vehicles between Guangdong and Macao or Hong Kong and Macao (the person driving a vehicle that travels between Hong Kong and Macao should be a designated driver and should have completed the formalities of the relevant departments regarding travel between the two regions)

Remarks / Points to note
- Passengers on-board a light vehicle that seats 9 people can remain in the car during immigration clearance;
- Heavy passenger vehicles and vehicles that seats more than 9 people are generally not allowed to carry passengers, with the exception of those that got an approval in advance in special situations.
- Drivers from Macao should follow the instruction of the police constable to scan the QR code when using “My border crossing”. In consideration of the setting of the specific inspection process of the vehicle channels, and for the sake of convenience of the public, on-board passengers are required to use their physical Resident Identity Card for immigration clearance, so as to ensure the efficiency and security of the clearance at vehicle channels.
