How to apply

Application procedure and required documents

Applying in person
If the applicant chooses to apply in person, he/she must submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form for Certificate of Imprisonment (can be collected at the service application location or downloaded from the Correctional Services Bureau’s website);
  2. Copy of valid identification document(s);
  3. Copy of Marriage Certificate (depending on individual cases).

Note:

When copies are submitted for application, originals must be presented for verification.

Online application
The applicant logs in to the “online service” system on the Correctional Services Bureau’s website or mobile app, clicks the item “Application for Certificate of Imprisonment”, and enters the relevant information according to the instruction of the system. The application procedure is then complete.

  1. Correctional Services Bureau – Social Assistance, Education and Training Division
    Address: Rua de S. Francisco Xavier s/n Coloane, Macao
    Office hours:
    09:00 to 17:45 on Monday to Thursday
    09:00 to 17:30 on Friday
  2. Correctional Services Bureau Service and Information Centre:
    Address: Avenida da Praia Grande, China Plaza, 8 andar “A”, Macao
    Office hours:
    09:00 to 17:45 on Monday to Thursday
    09:00 to 17:30 on Friday

Fee

Free of charge


Necessary time for approval

  • Applying in person: To be completed within 7 working days as of the day when all necessary documents are received and the consent of the inmate is obtained.
  • Online application: To be completed within 6 working days as of the day when all necessary documents are received and the consent of the inmate is obtained.

Remarks

Applicant can choose to collect the Certificate either at Coloane Prison or Correctional Services Bureau Service and Information Centre when lodging the application.
