Application for Video Visit to an Inmate


How to apply

Application procedure and necessary documents

Written application
Applicants may submit the application through the following approaches:

  1. Applying in person:
    1. Coloane Prison – Social Assistance, Education and Training Division
    2. Correctional Services Bureau Service and Information Centre
  2. By post: Coloane Prison (Estrada da Barragem de Ká Hó, Coloane, Macao)
  3. Fax:(853)2888 2431

Applicants need to submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form for Video Visit to an Inmate (the form can be collected at the service application location or downloaded from the Correctional Services Bureau’s website);
  2. One 1½ recent color photo;
  3. Copy of valid identification document(s).

Note: When copies are submitted for application, originals must be presented for verification.

Online application
The applicant logs in to the “online service” system on the Correctional Services Bureau’s website or mobile app, clicks the item “Application for Video Visit to an Inmate”, and enters the relevant information according to the instruction of the system. The application procedure is then complete.

Necessary time for approval

  • Written application: To be completed within 8 working days as of the day when all required documents are received and consent of the inmate is obtained.
  • Online application: To be completed within 7 working days as of the day when all required documents are received and consent of the inmate is obtained.

Remarks / important notes when applying

  1. Times for Video Visit:
    • Citizens using the Video Visit Service are entitled to up to an hour’s visit time;
    • Citizens may choose from one of the following 4 sessions to use the Video Visit Service:
      Monday to Friday (except public holidays):
      Morning: 10:00 – 11:00; 11:30 – 12:30
      Afternoon: 14:00 – 15:00; 15:30 – 16:30
  2. Location for Video Visit:
    • Correctional Services Bureau Service and Information Centre, located at Avenida da Praia Grande, China Plaza, 8 andar “A”, Macao
  3. Important notes for Video Visit Service:
    • Visitors need to bring ID document(s) for verification of identity;
    • Before entering the Video Visit room, visitors must receive a security check. For anyone who leaves the Video Visit room during the Video Visit, the person must receive a security check again before he or she is allowed to continue with the visit;
    • No more than 3 visitors are allowed to enter the Video Visit room at the same time;
    • Communication and recording devices are prohibited from being brought into the Video Visit room;
    • All belongings must be stored in the locker and locker keys must be kept properly;
    • If the behavior of any party of the Video Visit affects the safety and order of the Prison or causes negative influence on inmates, the Bureau may discontinue the visit immediately;
    • The delivery of articles and the deposit of money by visitors to inmates shall not be accepted;
    • After the Video Visit, the visitor is not allowed to pay the subsequent normal visit to the same inmate.
