How to Apply

Application procedures and documents required

  1. For appointment-making, please present:
    • Patient Card (commonly known as ‘gold card’);
    • Medical referral letter (required by all but a few specialties; follow-up appointment will be arranged by the attending physician during consultation).
  2. On the day of consultation, please present:
    • Identity document;
    • Patient Card (commonly known as ‘gold card’);
    • Outpatient appointment slip;
    • Others:
      • Healthcare Access Card (applicable to civil servants and/or their family beneficiaries); or
      • Medical Card (applicable to workers of organisations with which the Health Bureau has an agreement); or
      • Healthcare Card and relevant documentary proof (applicable to individuals entitled to ‘free healthcare’).

      • For patients attending specialties with extended services during weekdays or on Saturdays, please check-in at the registration office at lobby of Conde de Sao Januario General Hospital according to the time indicated on the appointment slip.

      • Monday to Friday (except government holidays), 8:30am~1:00pm, 2:00pm~5:45pm (until 5:30pm on Fridays)

5. Services during special hours

  • For patients attending specialties with extended services during weekdays or on Saturdays, please check in at the registration office at the lobby of Conde de Sao Januario General Hospital according to the time indicated on the appointment slip.
  • During holidays, participants of healthcare seminars may check in with the self-service registration kiosk at the Hospital Lobby at the specified time; in case it is out of order, please proceed to the registration office of General Emergency.

Fees

Consultation fee (excluding laboratory tests, medication, treatment, surgery, etc.)

  1. Macao SAR Resident Identity Card : MOP 42
  2. Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card : MOP 60
  3. Non-Macao resident identity document : MOP 120

Charges of “pregnancy and childbirth services” and “special obstetric services” for non-resident workers and non-resident pregnant women (View fee schedule here)

Charging rate of other medical services (e.g. laboratory tests, medication, treatment, surgery, etc.)

  1. Macao SAR Resident Identity Card : 70%
  2. Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card : 100%
  3. Non-Macao resident identity document : 200%


Application Processing Time

  • Scheduled outpatients can be checked in within 10 minutes upon arrival at the registration office. (Performance Pledge)
  • During rush hours (10:00am~12:00pm, 3:00pm~5:00pm), within 25 minutes. (Performance Pledge)
  • During non-rush hours (8:30am~10:00am, 12:00pm~3:00pm, 5:00pm~8:00pm), within 20 minutes. (Performance Pledge)

Remarks/Notes for Application

  1. Under general situations, referral letters are valid for 180 days.
  2. Defaulted appointments can be re-arranged within 180 days, starting from the issuing date of the referral letter as in first consultation cases, or from the day of the defaulted appointment as in follow-up cases; for old cases of Dermatology, follow-up can be re-arranged within one year.
  3. In case the referral or rebooking application is made beyond the above time limit, service users shall return to the referring entity for re-assessment.
  4. Service users holding referral letters by private medical institutions or clinics may make appointment online or in-person at the registration office located in the lobby of Conde de São Januário General Hospital; referral letters will be submitted to the corresponding department heads for evaluation, service users will be informed of the consultation arrangement by telephone.

Status Enquiry and Result Collection

  1. Referral to specialist outpatient clinics
    1. Individuals applying for referral online may inquire the application status and records of referrals to specialist outpatient clinics online. Successful applicants will be notified of the consultation date via SMS message; if supplementary information is required, the applicant will be notified separately by phone.
    2. Individuals applying for referral in-person will be notified of the referral result at once (Except people holding referral letters issued by private medical institutions or clinics which require evaluation by corresponding department heads; applicants will be informed of the referral result by telephone).
  2. Re-schedule of an appointment
    1. In-person: Result will be sent via SMS message upon completion of the change
    2. Over the phone: Result will be sent via SMS message upon completion of the change
    3. Online: The most up-to-date result can be accessed online
