1. Can medical fee be waived by presenting the Health Bureau Patient Card (Gold Card)?
The Health Bureau Patient Card (Gold Card) serves as an identification for the health record; therefore, presentation of the Gold Card will not enjoy any reduction in medical fee.
2. Under what circumstances will a resident hold more than one Gold Card with different numbers? What should the resident do with the cards?
Generally, one resident holds only one Gold Card which allows doctors to access your health information. If an individual has used different identity documents to seek medical attention, or failed to present relevant identity document in urgent situation, the concerned individual may have more than one Gold Card with different numbers. To ensure the integrity of health information, residents should bring along relevant Gold Cards, valid identity document, copy of old version identity document and others to the corresponding health centre or Registration Counter at Conde de São Januário General Hospital to process the combination of health information.
