How to Apply
Time of application: Before applying for the import licence for paramedical products, the applicant must first obtain the relevant prior authorisation for import from the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau.
Eligibility: Businesses holding the “Registration for Controlled Foreign Trade Operations” issued by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau.
Application procedures and documents required:
In order for the paramedical products to be authorised for import, the following documents and information must be submitted in advance:
- For first application, the sample outer package and package insert of the product should be submitted in advance;
- A relevant “prior authorisation” should be completed for each import application[pdf][doc].

Application Processing Time
The prior authorisation will be issued in 3 working days upon receipt of all required documents. (Performance Pledge)
The import license will be issued on the same day. (Performance Pledge)
Remarks/ Notes to Application
Information required: name of product, brand, name of manufacturer, active ingredients and their contents;
If the package insert or outer package is written in languages other than Chinese, English or Portuguese, a Chinese or Portuguese translation should be provided.
