1. For human corpse shipping to Zhuhai, is it necessary to submit the embalming certificate to the Health Bureau

Embalming Certificate is not required when the body is exported to Zhuhai via specific vehicle transportation; however, relevant requirement cannot be ruled out in Zhuhai. When exporting to places other than Zhuhai, an Embalming Certificate should be submitted.


2. Is it necessary to obtain a permit from the Health Bureau in order to transport human remains from the Mainland to Macao?

No. The existing legislation does not require a permit for the transportation of exhumed remains (skeletal remains) buried for 5 years or above.


3. For application of Certificate of Medical Sanitation, is the agent required to produce the original or photocopy of his/her identity document?

No. The agent is not required to produce the original or photocopy of his/her identity document.


4. What is specific and non-specific vehicle transportation?

Non-specific vehicle transportation refers to combined transport with other goods by carrier; whereas specific vehicle transportation refers to individual transport of the coffin.


5. What are the sanitation requirements for the export of skeletal remains?

1. The skeletal remains should be dry, without any incompletely rotten tendon or muscles, odorless, and free of insects, ovum or other types of parasites.
2. Sealing is not required, but the skeletal remains should be covered with a lid, and kept clean and hygienic.
