1. Can parents request to enroll their child in a designated school?
No, they cannot. The Education and Youth Development Bureau allocates school places in accordance with the availability of school places at different schools. Therefore, parents cannot request the DSEDJ to help enroll their child in a particular school.
2. My daughter, who is a student with special educational needs, has applied for several schools but is not admitted to any school yet, can you allocate a school place for her?
Yes. The legal guardian of the student can go to the Centre of Psycho-pedagogical Support and Special Education in person to apply for school admissions service. The Education and Youth Development Bureau will help to allocate an appropriate school place for the student.
3. I am a teacher. I’ve found that an inclusive student in my class is not suitable to study at our school. Can I apply for school admissions service for him/her?
No, you cannot. The application for school admissions service must be made to the Education and Youth Development Bureau by the legal guardian of the student.
