How to Apply

Time Limit for Application

  • Pleasure boat driver licence can be renewed within six months prior to the expiry date.
  • Applicants aged 65 or above would like to renew their pleasure boat driver licence must mandatorily renew their licence every 5 years.

Formalities and Required Documents

Applications should be made in person at the Marine and Water Bureau, with the submission of the followings:

  1. Application form for renewal/replacement of pleasure boat driver licence (Format N2/DET); (the form can be obtained from the location for application)
  2. Two 1 1/2-inch recent colour photos with white background showing your full frontal face without any head covering;
  3. Photocopy of identification document (original copy to be presented);
  4. Medical examination certificate issued by the Health Centre or a Macao-registered doctor (Format N3/DET); (the form can be obtained from the location for application)
  5. Photocopy of pleasure boat driver licence (original copy to be presented);
  6. Photocopy of proof of address (such as electricity or water bill).

Documents required to be processed / applied in advance:

Medical examination certificate issued by the Health Centre or a Macao-registered doctor (Format N3/DET). (the form can be obtained from the locations for application)

Charges

Application Fees

Fees charged pursuant to the “General table of fees of the Marine and Water Bureau”.

Stamp Duty

Stamp duty is levied according to the Chief Executive Dispatch No. 87/2021, republishing the full texts of the “Stamp Duty Regulations” and its annex, “General Table of Stamp Duty”.

Exemption Conditions:

If the applicant is a civil servant, stamp duty will be waived, upon presentation of original employment document of the working department, according to the Chief Executive Dispatch No. 87/2021, republishing the full texts of the “Stamp Duty Regulations” and its annex, “General Table of Stamp Duty”.

Notes:

  • By cash or cheque.
  • When payment is made by cheque, remember to make the cheque payable to “Direcção dos Serviços de Assuntos Marítimos e de Água” and it must comply with Paragraph 3 of Article 5 of No.22/2008 Administrative Regulations, of 4 August, and must be a certified cheque.

Processing Time

Upon submission of all necessary documents, the processing time is 4 working days, excluding the day of application submission. (Performance Pledge)
