Pilotage Services of Vessels

Introductions

Pilotage service is provided to vessels for the purpose of giving assistance on navigation and operation of vessels, assisting the vessels in entering and leaving the ports of Macao as well as avoiding collision or stranding of vessels, among which non-Macao registered vessels carrying dangerous goods (such as oil tankers, liquefied gas carriers, chemical tankers and vessels carrying goods in packaged form as specified in International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code etc.), as well as vessels, of 1000 or above gross tonnage, not carrying dangerous goods are obligated to be under pilotage when entering and leaving the areas in which pilotage is compulsory, such as the Ka-Ho Harbour, Inner Harbour or Outer Harbour. Also, pilotage exemption certificates will be issued to vessels fulfilling the statutory requirements.

Application Result

The Marine and Water Bureau will provide pilotage services or issue exemption permits to applicants (agencies).
