Time Limit for Application

Formalities and Required Documents
Applications should be made in person at the Marine and Water Bureau, with the submission of the followings:
- Miscellaneous application form (format V1/DET); (the form can be obtained from the locations for application)
- Photocopy of identification document (original copy to be presented for verification);
- Photocopy of the latest supporting document for the establishment of the entity, if the applicant is a juristic person (original copy to be presented for verification) (Entities which have been registered in the Commerce and Movable Property Registry, and of which information can be obtained online from the Legal Affairs Bureau, are not required to submit the Commercial Registration Certificate);
- Name list of staff and photocopies of their identification documents, if any, should be attached;
- Photocopies of the ship owner’s identification document and valid certificate of navigation and a berthing map, should be attached, if the religious ritual is practised on board.
Notes:
- Marine and Water Bureau will require the applicant to submit supplementary information on a case by case basis.
- The applicant can submit the information which may facilitate the application.

Application Fees
Fees charged pursuant to the “General table of fees of the Marine and Water Bureau”.
Stamp Duty
Stamp duty is levied according to the Chief Executive Dispatch No. 87/2021, republishing the full texts of the “Stamp Duty Regulations” and its annex, “General Table of Stamp Duty”.
Notes:
- By cash or cheque.
- When payment is made by cheque, remember to make the cheque payable to “Direcção dos Serviços de Assuntos Marítimos e de Água” and it must comply with Paragraph 3 of Article 5 of No.22/2008 Administrative Regulations, of 4 August, and must be a certified cheque.
Processing Time
- For applications for the licence for religious rituals, which involve ship inspections, upon submission of all necessary documents, the licence will be issued within 7 working days, excluding the day when the inspection has been passed. (Performance Pledge)
- For applications for the licence for religious rituals, which do not involve ship inspections, upon submission of all necessary documents, the licence will be issued within 7 working days, excluding the day of application submission. (Performance Pledge)
