Service brief description

Service content

For driving abroad in countries/regions other than Macao Special Administrative Region. Please refer to the list of countries and regions in “Convention on Road Traffic”.

 

Service recipient

Holder of Macao Driving License

Note:

1) The validity of the international driving license is in accordance with the expiry date of the Macao Driving License, but with a maximum of 1 year from the date of issue.

2) Due to the different conditions in each country/region, the international driving license is subject to local laws and restrictions.

3) Download translation of the International Driving License.

How to apply

  •  Application at the counter ( advance booking is required )

Procedures and required documents

1.     Application form (043/DLC)Note 1

2.     One 1,5 inches recent facial color photograph (photograph specification)

3.     Power of attorney form ( form 091/DLC) Note 1: ( suitable for legal representative, the legal representative must show the original of his/her identification document)

 

  •   Online submission

Through “Macao One Account” (click here to login and choose “Department”-DSAT) or “Macao One Account” mobile application (download)

1.      Login to “Macao One Account” (individual)

2.      Agree to capture the Macao Resident Identity Card applicant photograph image from the Identification Services Bureau when applying.

3.      Choose the photo for identification documents under “My photos” in “Macao One Account” (List of contracted merchants on Macao One Account) to apply.

 

Remarks

1.     The application form must be signed by the applicant accordingly to the identification document. If the applicant’s personal identification particulars had been amended, he/she must first go in person to the Transport Bureau to update the information before submitting the application.

2.     The applicant must use the photo for identification documents under “My photos” in “Macao One Account” within 12 months or less from the shooting date. The Transport Bureau can request a new photograph to those who does not meet the requirements.

3.     To the applicants that apply through the “Macao One Account” website or mobile application, if the validity date of their Macao Driving License is less than 30 days, the applicant must apply in person.

4.     When using an international driving license to drive in a country/region other than the Macao Special Administrative Region, the holder must ensure that the driving category shown on the Macao Driving License is consistent with the international driving license.

Fees

Fee: MOP 300

Stamp Duty: 10% of the fee

Note: According to “Tabela de Taxas e Preços da Direcção dos Serviços para os Assuntos de Tráfego” in force.

Approval timeframe

1. Request in person ( click here to book an appointment ) at Reception area of the Transport Bureau (Estrada de D. Maria II) for applying and collecting, 1 working day (Service Pledge)

(Remarks: Applicable when all the documents have been submitted on the application day before 4:00 p.m., counting from the next day after all the documents is submitted.)

2.  If collecting document at Centro de Serviços da RAEM ,Centro de Serviços da RAEM das Ilhas,Auto-Silo do Parque Central da Taipa- The driving document collection machine,3 working days after the day of applying.

3.   Apply through“Macao One Account” or mobile application:

  •   If  collecting document at Reception area of the Transport Bureau (Estrada de D. Maria II), 2 working days after the day of applying.
  • If collecting document at Centro de Serviços da RAEM ,Centro de Serviços da RAEM das Ilhas,Auto-Silo do Parque Central da Taipa- The driving document collection machine,3 working days after the day of applying.

 

Remarks: After the application is approved, an SMS message would be sent to the applicant when the document is ready to collect.
